Large-scale Russian Assaults Eliminate Electricity Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under increased strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and encountered disruption to drinking water, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a minor was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to local officials.

Russian forces has increased assaults on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from allies to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the major economies - in delivering defensive weapons and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen rockets struck energy facilities, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were laboring to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Multiple people injured in the attacks on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region experienced significant strikes overnight. A seven-year-old child lost their life and several individuals were hurt.

The attacks succeed periods of air raids in the territory, sections of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to detect.

Government officials told journalists that Russia was intentionally trying to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
